Hillview Volunteer Application
“It takes many hands to help mend the broken hearts that come through our doors”
Hillview Acres appreciates the compassion and dedicated service of our volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about our volunteer opportunities, please contact our Development Associate Shelley Ryan: (909) 628-1272 x 217; shelleyryan[at]hillview.org
Individual Volunteers: Also known as “Big Brother/Sister” or “Mentor.” Individual Volunteers are matched with a child with whom they consistently hang out with and invest in through developing relationship. They possess a great opportunity to speak love, hope, and truth to a child at an individual level. Individual volunteers commit to being involved with a child for at least a year and to spend time with a child at least every other week (more often is fine). Individual volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.
Cottage Volunteer: Cottage Volunteers are assigned to a specific cottage of children (eight children) whom they consistently hang out with (primarily on-campus) and invest in through developing relationship. Cottage Volunteers possess a great opportunity to make an impact on children at Hillview on a group level as they consistently communicate a message of love, hope, and truth through participating in activities as simple as playing games, hanging out, and having conversation. Cottage Volunteers commit to being involved with Hillview for at least a year and to spending time with their assigned cottage at least every other week (more often is fine). Cottage volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.
Other Volunteer Opportunities: Do you have another idea of how you’d like volunteer pressing on your heart? Please contact Shelley Ryan so we can further discuss the possibilities.
The Hillview Acres Women’s Auxiliary is another excellent way to get involved with the work of Hillview Acres. The group holds monthly meetings and coordinates fundraisers and service projects.
